"Other schools should offer a class like [Leadership] to their students because it is a good learning experience. The students would be able to meet new people, learn new things by working at their internship sites, and will know how to take part in advocating for something they believe in."

Ways to Contribute

CARTA cares about all young people, but prioritizes the needs of vulnerable youth, disadvantaged youth and youth of color – those youth who, due to life circumstances, structural inequality, and racism, face obstacles that impede their development. CARTA chooses not to provide direct services, but rather to make existing services more appropriate and effective for diverse populations. We believe we can reach more youth, leverage more support, and achieve greater impact with this broad strategy.

Your tax-deductible donation will support the ongoing work of the organization, including capacity building and support projects that promote the success of young people.

If you would like to join our mailing list please mail your contact information to Angela Guss, senior communications assistant.

Other Ways to Show Your Support:

Use GoodSearch! GoodSearch is a search engine which donates 50 percent of its revenue to the charities and schools designated by its users. GoodSearch is powered by Yahoo! and can be used exactly like any other search engine. The money GoodSearch donates to your cause comes from its advertisers — the users and the organizations do not spend a dime.

Just visit www.goodsearch.com and type ' The Center for Applied Research and Technical Assistance, Inc.' into the empty text box under the question: Who do you GoodSearch for? and begin your search.

Shop Online! GoodSearch was expanded to include GoodShop, an online shopping mall of world-class merchants (like Target and Amazon.com) dedicated to helping fund worthy causes across the country. Each purchase made via the GoodShop mall results in a donation to the user's designated charity or school. Most donations average about 3 percent of the sale, but can go as high as 20 percent or even more.

Visit www.goodsearch.com and click on the Shopping tab to view all donation and merchant options.
